Through a commitment to responsible manufacturing, we’re proud to say our entire swimwear line is made in Australia, and each garment produced to order.

We cut and create your swimsuit as and when your order comes in, allowing you to make changes if you wish. Want your briefs cheekier, or your top customised to fit your bust? We’ll accommodate as best we can.

We use digital printing to reduce wastage and our coloured inks are water based, beneficial for the environment as there is no washing or special water drains required after printing.

We also say no to harsh chemicals across every part of our process.

Your swimwear will arrive in tissue that’s completely acid free and FSC Certified - a premium solution that’s better for the environment.

The parcels we use are all bio-based, made partly from plants and totally biodegradable with no toxic residues or micro-plastics. Even better, they’re completely compostable — a simple way you can close the loop and care for the planet from the comfort of home.

In an industry that moves too fast, we believe in taking it SLOW. 

Sustainability has been woven into the very fabric of Cleonie since the beginning. Our pieces are hand-made-to-order in Australia, crafted from materials that would have otherwise wound their way into landfill. It’s our way of reducing waste, minimising excess stock and ensuring your garment is made with love and care in every stitch.

Our collections are limited and we only release three per year. Our timeless styles and use of high-quality, conscious fabrications mean that our pieces last - made to be reworn season after season.

Here are some of the ways we're working towards being the most sustainable brand we can be.

Since we began, we’ve chosen to source and use ECONYL regenerated nylon. ECONYL is a product created from otherwise discarded nylon that can be recycled, recreated and remoulded, time and again.

Cleonie is distinguished for its eco-crinkle fabric, a one-size-fits-most product that is made in Australia. The polyester in our garments is all crafted from recycled polymers, which means every piece reduces the amount of waste going into landfill.

Any time we can work with eco-fabrics we do - even our swing​ t​a​g​s are eco-friendly and made from recycled stock.
